Hoses should be black and ribbed. (ok stop the
snickering!)
The Chestbox standard requires the hoses to run from the
box to the helmet inserts in lengths determined by the
size of the pilot from 18" to 22" with a 1.25" exterior
diameter. Durability, weight and flexibility as well as
"looks" is what is important. Pictured is the light
weight polypropylene hose available in 25' lengths from

The box must have a white and red round button on the
top right side of the front angle. It requires three
rocker switches that conform in style (the white wedge
rocker never made it onto the screen), with four, one
inch squares in either combination of 1 gray, 1 white
and 2 blue or 1 red, 1 white and 2 blue surrounded with
white 1/8th inch pin striping and with a line across the
front. What is pictured here is what is left of the
"M.O.M" (Magic of Movies) display. However it does
clearly show the two gray gears with approximately 20
teeth and a diameter of 1 7/8ths inch on each of the
bottom "donut" sections and hoses and proper dimensions
of the TIE Pilot chest box. Click on the thumbnail for
a closer view, just be aware, it ain't pretty.

Here
you can see the proper dimensions of the box in relation
to the chest armor. The "greeblies" in the bottom
section shown here are turned out of aluminum.
Variations of these components may very with
availability.
Take note that the "donuts" are thicker at the top where
the hoses are installed as compared to the lower
versions that have the gears attached. More importantly
are the clean lines and a sharp presentation.

Any modifications ie: lights, fans, amplifiers, mp3
players, jawa juice coolers are entirely optional.
